Shiv Ganpati Pty Ltd is an established restaurant in Aubin Grove, Western Australia, specialising in Indian cuisine. We are urgently seeking an experienced and reliable Full-Time Cook to join our kitchen team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing high-quality food, has experience with Indian cuisine and can work effectively in a busy commercial kitchen.

Task & responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

Preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and recipes.

Preparing ingredients, sauces, marinades and other food items required for service.

Maintaining a consistently high standard of food quality, presentation and portion control.

Ensuring meals are prepared efficiently to meet customer demand.

Maintaining consistency and quality during busy service periods.

Assisting with training and guiding junior cooks in food preparation and cooking techniques.

Assisting with stock control and communicating with suppliers to place orders for food and kitchen supplies.

Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients.

Maintaining a clean, tidy and hygienic kitchen.

Complying with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.

Working cooperatively with other kitchen staff and management.

Maintaining a positive and professional attitude when working under pressure.

Qualification & experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

At least 2 year of relevant commercial cooking experience, particularly in preparing Indian cuisine.

Preferred Diploma of Hospitality Management Qualification

Proven experience as a Cook in a commercial Kitchen environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of Indian cooking techniques and food preparation.

A high standard of food presentation and attention to detail.

The ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment.

The ability to guide and train junior kitchen staff.

Good communication and organisational skills.

The ability to communicate with suppliers and assist with food ordering.

Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene requirements.

A positive and reliable attitude.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Availability to work across a flexible roster, including weekends and public holidays where required.

A genuine commitment to ongoing full-time employment.
