Your new role

We are currently seeking two experienced Building Maintenance Officers / Trade Assistants to join a busy maintenance team. This role will commence immediately and is currently scheduled through to 31 December 2026, with potential for extension.
Working Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 3:30pm, you will assist with the inspection, maintenance and repair of community facilities and built assets. This hands-on role will see you completing a variety of maintenance, refurbishment and project-based tasks while ensuring facilities remain safe, compliant and well-presented.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting inspections and condition assessments of facilities and assets
  • Carrying out general building repairs and maintenance
  • Assisting with refurbishment and construction projects
  • Operating power tools, hand tools and small plant equipment
  • Raising and completing maintenance work orders
  • Maintaining accurate records and inspection reports
  • Liaising with stakeholders and contractors as required
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

Supporting ongoing maintenance programs and capital works projects What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in building maintenance, construction or a Trade Assistant role
  • Trade qualification in Carpentry, Building & Construction, Painting or a related trade highly regarded
  • Construction White Card
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Working at Heights ticket highly regarded
  • EWP Licence highly regarded
  • Reliable with a strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to provide contactable references
