Salary: AUD $ 70,000–AUD $ 85,000 (plus superannuation) 

At Teams Work, a Vineyard Supervisor is responsible for supervising all related operations within several vineyards across the Margaret River region. They are responsible for the regular maintenance, pruning of vines, harvesting operations on site, and monitoring and controlling vineyard pests and diseases.

Task & responsibilities

• Supervise and manage multiple vineyards' infrastructure, including inspection, repair and maintenance of fences, irrigation and fertiliser systems, post and wire frameworks and water supply. 
• Plan and oversee daily work schedules, vineyard operational requirements, workforce allocation, logistics and production activities. 

• Manage and supervise the planting, cultivation, pruning and harvesting of wine grapes. 

• Train, organise and supervise seasonal vineyard workers on client sites to achieve the scheduled job safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
• Coordinate and ensure all workers are provided with the appropriate tools, specialised equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) required for pruning and harvesting activities, including buckets, pruning shears and gloves.
• Ensure workers understand and comply with all documentation, role, physical-capability and workplace safety requirements, while working closely with team leaders to identify and resolve onsite issues.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained at an optimal standard for completion of tasks at every site.
• Collect and maintain clear and up-to-date vineyard data, production-monitoring and irrigation systems.
• Undertake or supervise the safe application of pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers and other agricultural chemicals in accordance with workplace safety and regulatory requirements when needed. 

Skills required:

•    Strong professional communication skills when liaising with managers, vineyard managers, administrative staff, workers and clients.

•    Accurate record-keeping skills, including maintaining required documentation relating to vineyard teams.

•    Ability to promptly notify the Team Coordinator and Payroll of employee absences and changes to team arrangements.

•    Effective liaison and problem-solving skills to address operational or workforce issues.

•    Ability to explain workplace grievance procedures to workers and support the confidential completion of grievance reports.

•    Ability to train and support workers and newly appointed supervisors.

•    Ability to assess workers’ competency and ensure teams are adequately trained to perform assigned tasks.

•    Strong quality-control skills to ensure vineyard work is completed safely and to the standards required by vineyard managers

Qualification & experience

?    Certificate III (including at least two years of on-the-job training) or Certificate IV relevant qualification

?    Or at least 3 years working as a Vineyard Supervisor.
