PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To carry out electrical installation, maintenance, testing, fault finding, and commissioning works safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements, Australian Standards, and company procedures.
The Licensed Electrician is responsible for delivering high-quality electrical works across construction, infrastructure, civil, defence, solar, and remote projects while maintaining strong safety standards, supporting team productivity, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects across the Northern Territory.

Task & responsibilities
- Perform day to day tasks as required and directed by immediate supervisor.
- Operate and maintain plant, tools, and equipment in good order in accordance with operator's manual, company procedures and good practice.
- Maintain a safe workplace and follow work procedures for the safety of both team members and public in accordance with work health and safety guidelines.
- Comply with AS/NZS 3000: Wiring Rules and all other standards applicable to your work including referenced sections of the Building Code of Australia (BSA).
- Maintain in good working order, tool kit including hand tools and battery tools required to complete all assigned tasks.
- Understand WH&S responsibilities.
- Maintain effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
- Read and interpret drawings correctly.
- Order and collect materials when required or as directed by immediate supervisor, by following the requires company procedures when doing so.
- Electrical fit outs of demountable buildings.
- Wiring of new and established houses.
- Electrical wiring and fitout of commercial / industrial installations.
- Installation of cable tray and support systems.
- Installation of underground conduit and pit reticulation.
Qualification & experience
- Construction Induction / White Card
- Manual Driver License
- Working with Children Check
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
- Electrical License (NT)
- LVR / CPR
- Ability & willingness to undertake and pass a police check if required
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Basic computer skills in using Office 365 Suites.
- Simpro Mobile (Project Management Software).
- Must have a sound understanding of AS/NZS 3000: Wiring Rules and all other standards applicable to your work including referenced sections of the Building Code of Australia (BSA).
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to plan own work within established guidelines and procedures to perform a range of tasks involving general skills.
- Ability to ensure all work conducted meets safety legislative requirements and responsibilities of MEC NT. This includes complying with all workplace instructions and procedures, using protective equipment provided and not placing any people's safety at risk by your actions.
