We are seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Planner to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and coordinating mechanical maintenance activities, supporting the reliability of plant and equipment, and assisting with engineering improvements across the manufacturing operation.

Task & responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and coordinate preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for plant, machinery and production equipment.
  • Inspect mechanical equipment and identify maintenance, repair and reliability requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical equipment and machinery issues.
  • Prepare maintenance plans, work orders, schedules and relevant technical documentation.
  • Monitor maintenance activities, equipment performance and maintenance costs.
  • Assist with the selection, installation, modification and improvement of mechanical equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and safety.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers and maintenance personnel as required.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are undertaken in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and technical documentation.
  • Assist with engineering projects, plant upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualification & experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A relevant Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • 1-2 years minimum experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance planning or a -similar manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical plant, machinery and industrial maintenance systems.
  • Experience developing preventative maintenance schedules and coordinating maintenance activities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety.
