Mercy College Koondoola is a co-educational Catholic school in Koondoola, in Perth's northern suburbs, operating within the Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) system. The Sisters of Mercy founded the College in 1972, and it now teaches more than 1,600 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 on a 10-hectare campus at 26 Mirrabooka Avenue. About the role
The ICT Support Technician is committed to the Vision and Mission of the College. The role will be required to support the strategic direction of the College and the school improvement journey.
The ICT Support Technician will work with the ICT Team and is accountable to the ongoing improvement of ICT practises to support the effective operation of the College.
Duties and Responsibilities
ICT Systems Management
- Support the ICT Senior Systems Administrator and ICT Systems
- Administrator where required
- Maintain all documentation for ICT systems and processes
- Assist the ICT Manager with budgetary requirements
- Act as ICT Systems Administrator when required
Project Management
- Identify potential ICT projects
Support Services
- Provide first-tier ICT support to staff and students, troubleshooting and resolving helpdesk requirements both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring timely and effective solutions
- Interface with CEWA to create and manage CEWA ICT Helpdesk tickets
- Manage CEWA user accounts
- Oversee relationships and liaise with third-party contractors/software vendors where required
- Assist College staff by providing initial support and basic training on ICT systems, equipment and ICT applications like Teams, SharePoint, and OneNote
- Assist in the deployment of staff and student devices
- Respond, manage and follow up ICT support tickets and emails, prioritising and resolving them in a prompt manner, and escalating to senior ICT team members when required
- Assist with the setup, configuration and deployment of new ICT equipment, including computers, printers, and mobile devices
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on existing ICT and audio-visual equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain accurate records of all ICT support activities, including documenting issues and solutions
- Assist with ICT projects and initiatives as required
Qualifications/Licenses
- This position requires a relevant qualification and/or experience relevant to the position
Experience
- Experience working within Windows and Apple environments
- Experience documenting ICT processes
- Some experience working with MDM technologies
- Some experience working with WiFi and networking technologies
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
- Good ICT troubleshooting skills
- Excellent documentation skills
- Possess the ability to work collaboratively as a team member of the ICT Team
- The incumbent must have excellent organisation skills, customer service skills, communication and interpersonal skills on all levels
- Work with all staff, students, and family members in such a manner as to support the CEWA/Mercy College Code of Conduct
- Commitment to Child Safety and Protection consistent with the CEWA Child Safe Framework
- Uphold strict confidentiality on all College matters
