We are seeking a collaborative and dedicated professional to join our team in fostering children's early education and social development. In this hands-on role, you will prepare essential materials, conduct planned activities, and actively engage with children using play as a primary method of learning. You will also play a vital part in everyday care by supervising the children's daily routines and hygiene, assisting with behaviour management, and working closely with fellow staff members to maintain a positive, supportive room environment.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside Lead Educators and other team members to provide high-quality education and care to children

 • Assist in preparing materials and equipment for children’s educational and recreational activities.

• Plan, prepare and conduct age-appropriate, play-based learning activities.

• Support the implementation of learning programs that promote children’s development.

• Supervise and engage with children during indoor and outdoor activities.

• Support children during daily routines, including meals, rest periods and transitions.

• Supervise and support children’s personal hygiene and general wellbeing.

• Support positive behaviour and children’s social and emotional development.

• Engage children through storytelling, reading, games and other interactive learning experiences.

• Observe and document children’s development through observations and jottings.

• Maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

• Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues in planning and delivering learning activities.

• Follow relevant centre policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

• Contribute to continuous improvement within the service.

Qualification & experience

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this position, applicants should have:

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher relevant qualification.

• Prior relevant experience working with children aged 0–5 years.

• Experience supervising and engaging with children during indoor and outdoor activities.

• Experience supporting or delivering age-appropriate learning activities.

• Ability to observe and document children’s learning and development.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an early childhood education team.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

• A genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
