About the Role

This is a hands-on, full-time management position responsible for ensuring fresh flowers are received, stored, allocated and distributed accurately and efficiently. This position also requires coordination of daily supply and distribution operations while maintaining high standards of product quality and freshness, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities & Daily Tasks

* Manage the daily supply, receiving, storage and distribution of fresh flowers.

* Coordinate incoming flower deliveries and ensure products are checked for quantity and quality.

* Organise stock allocation and ensure customer orders are prepared accurately and on time.

* Monitor stock levels and coordinate purchasing/replenishment requirements with management.

* Liaise with local and interstate transport companies and freight providers.

* Coordinate daily customer delivery schedules and ensure orders are dispatched according to customer requirements.

* Plan and coordinate drivers, vehicles, delivery routes and delivery priorities for all customer deliveries.

* Coordinate drivers and pick-up routes for daily stock collection from local growers and suppliers.

* Supervise warehouse and distribution staff and allocate daily duties.

* Ensure correct handling, storage, rotation and presentation of fresh flowers.

* Monitor stock movement, wastage, damaged goods and discrepancies and take corrective action.

* Maintain accurate inventory and distribution records.

* Communicate with sales/customer service staff regarding order priorities, availability and delivery requirements.

* Monitor vehicle and equipment requirements and report any maintenance issues to management.

* Assist with training, performance management and development of warehouse/distribution staff where required.

* Ensure the warehouse and distribution areas remain clean, organised and operationally efficient.

Qualifications Required

* Relevant qualifications are desirable. However, where the applicant has substantial relevant industry experience (at least 5 years) this will be accepted in lieu of qualifications.

* Relevant workplace health and safety, logistics or warehouse qualifications will be viewed favourably.

Work Experience Required

* 1-2 years' experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse, distribution or transport management.

* Experience managing staff and coordinating daily operational activities.

* Experience in a fast-paced wholesale, fresh produce, floral, food or other perishable-products environment is highly desirable.

* Experience coordinating deliveries, drivers and transport providers.

* Experience with inventory management, stock control and purchasing.

* Experience working with suppliers and customers, and negotiating supply or delivery requirements.

* Experience managing time-sensitive and high-volume orders.
