**Seasonal Fruit Pickers and Packers — 100 Casual Positions** Midwest Rural Services is seeking 100 seasonal horticulture workers for fruit picking, processing, packing and general orchard duties across Moora, Gingin and Bindoon, Western Australia. Work will take place at orchards and packing sheds, with duties varying between locations. **Main duties** - Picking and harvesting citrus and stone fruit. - Processing, sorting and packing citrus fruit. - General orchard and packing shed duties. - Following workplace safety instructions, quality standards and work procedures. **Employment details** - Start date: 7 April 2027. - Duration: Minimum six months. Applicants should be available for the advertised seasonal period. - Employment type: Casual. - Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week. Work is generally performed Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, with schedules varying according to seasonal requirements. - Weekend work: Some weekend work may be required during peak harvest. - Award: Horticulture Award 2020. - Pay: The current adult Level 1 casual starting rate is $32.18 per hour, including 25% casual loading, plus superannuation. Classification and pay will reflect relevant industry experience, with progression to Level 2 in accordance with the Award. - Additional entitlements: Applicable overtime, penalty rates and allowances are paid in accordance with the Award. Pay rates will be adjusted for applicable Award increases. - Pay frequency: Weekly. Applicants should: - Be able to safely undertake physical work, including repetitive tasks, standing, bending and handling loads of up to 20 kg. - Be reliable and self-motivated. - Be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and indoors in packing sheds. - Be available for weekend work when required. - Follow instructions and work efficiently while maintaining safety and quality. - Communicate effectively and work well within a team. Previous horticultural experience and formal qualifications are not required for entry-level positions. Further training and upskilling opportunities may be available.
