About The Client
Curry Resort Indian Restaurant is a highly reviewed traditional Indian restaurant in Dalby in regional Queensland. They are currently looking for an experienced Chef to join their expanding team.
The Role
This is a full time role with an annual salary set between $79,000 to $81,000 plus superannuation. The role is based in Dalby in regional Queensland.
The Responsibilities
Your tasks at the restaurant will consist of:
Plan and prepare various dishes to meet menu standards and customer preferences.
Oversee food preparation to ensure meals are served promptly and meet required quality and safety standards.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen while complying with all health regulations.
Manage inventory by ordering ingredients, monitoring stock levels and minimising wastage to improve kitchen efficiency.
Coordinate with the kitchen team to organise and prioritise tasks for smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
Collaborate with the service team to maintain clear communication and support customer satisfaction.
Develop new menu items by incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer feedback to improve menu variety and appeal.
Ensure dishes are plated and presented attractively while maintaining consistent quality and presentation standards.
Handle customer complaints relating to food quality and service while ensuring compliance with company standards.
Implement strategies to improve food quality, operational efficiency and overall customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve the overall dining experience.
The Requirements:
To be considered for the position you must meet the following requirements:
At least Diploma in a related field.
Strong food knowledge and skills in authentic Indian cuisine
Minimum 12 months of experience as a commercial chef in a restaurant kitchen
Minimum 12 months of experience with cooking curry and Tandoori
Minimum 12 months of cooking experience with open fire and the Tandoor oven
At least 12 months experience in preparing advanced marinades, masalas and curry pastes and sauces from scratch
Minimum 12 months of experience in preparing Tandoori rub mix from scratch
Must be able to work with proteins like beef, lamb and seafood
Experience in adherence to recipe & portion control, as well as ordering and stock control
Ability to follow instruction & take direction
Excellent time management and attention to detail
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Be available to work on weekends to deal with many customers
