We are seeking a qualified, experienced Dental Assistant to join our growing practice in Kununurra.

Salary: $74,100 per annum + superannuation

Employment: Full-time – 38 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Dental Assistant to join our growing dental practice in Kununurra,

The successful applicant will work closely with dentists and other dental professionals to provide chairside assistance and support the efficient operation of the practice.

SKILLS

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• Good chairside assisting skills.
• Sound knowledge of dental instruments, equipment and materials.
• Knowledge of infection-control and sterilisation procedures.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a dental team.
• Ability to communicate professionally with patients.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy dental practice.

Task & responsibilities

The Dental Assistant will be responsible for:

• Assisting dentists during a wide range of dental examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Preparing and sterilising instruments and dental equipment
• Preparing dental treatment rooms, instruments and equipment before and between patients.
• Maintaining appropriate infection-control procedures.
• Cleaning and maintaining dental equipment and treatment areas.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
• Assisting with preparation and processing of dental laboratory work where required.
• Assisting and informing patients attending for treatments 
• Replenishing dental materials, instruments and supplies.
• Following workplace health and safety, infection-control and practice procedures.
• Assisting with general practice duties as required.

Qualification & experience

QUALIFICATIONS

• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualification.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum one year experience working as a Dental Assistant.
• Experience with dental instrument preparation, sterilisation and infection-control procedures.
• Experience working in a busy clinical environment.
