The Engineering Technologist will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and optimisation of stone manufacturing and installation processes. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and practical experience to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with Australian standards.

Task & responsibilities

• Developing, reviewing, and optimising production processes for stone fabrication and installation
• Assisting in the design and implementation of engineering solutions for custom stone projects
• Interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and technical plans
• Conducting feasibility studies and analysing materials, costs, and production methods
• Preparing detailed technical reports, documentation, and project plans
• Monitoring production workflows to ensure quality control, safety, and efficiency standards are met
• Collaborating with stonemasons, project managers, and clients to deliver project requirements
• Identifying process improvements and implementing innovative technologies or methodologies
• Ensuring compliance with Australian building codes, WHS regulations, and environmental standards
• Providing technical support and guidance throughout project lifecycle from design to completion

Qualification & experience

• Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Engineering or a related field
• Minimum experience of 12 months full time, part time, casual or equivalent work in the same field is required
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials engineering, or construction systems
• Experience in stone, construction, or building materials industry highly regarded
• Proficiency in CAD software and engineering design tools
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
• Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
