Hays is partnering with a well-established organisation seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Officer to join their team. This role offers an immediate start and the potential for ongoing employment for the right candidate.
Working across two sites, you will play a key role in ensuring buildings, grounds and facilities are maintained to a safe, functional and high standard.
Your new role
As a Maintenance Officer, you will undertake a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across buildings and grounds. This is a diverse, hands-on role suited to someone with a strong maintenance background and a practical approach to problem-solving.
Key responsibilities include:
- General building maintenance and repairs
- Routine property inspections and preventative maintenance
- Minor carpentry, painting and patching work
- General grounds and outdoor area maintenance
- Identifying and reporting maintenance issues
- Coordinating and assisting contractors on-site when required
- Basic plumbing and handyman-related tasks
- Ensuring all facilities remain safe, clean and operational
- Maintaining tools, equipment and maintenance records
- Adhering to workplace health and safety procedures
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Officer, Handyman or Facilities Maintenance role
- Trade qualification or trade background highly regarded
- Strong practical maintenance and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage workloads effectively
- Commitment to workplace health and safety
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or ability to obtain one
- Reliable, professional and customer-focused approach
