With a strong focus on customer outcomes, operational excellence and continuous improvement, the business is investing heavily in leadership capability and is seeking a highly experienced operational leader to play a critical role within its life claims and insurance function.


Your new role

Reporting to a senior executive, this role sits above frontline leadership and operates as a true leader of leaders.

You will be responsible for driving operational performance, capability uplift, strategic initiatives and service excellence across a large claims and insurance operation while leading a team of experienced people leaders.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading operational strategy and execution across claims and insurance functions
  • Developing and mentoring leadership teams to deliver high-performing outcomes
  • Driving operational improvement, transformation and change initiatives
  • Managing performance against service, quality and regulatory expectations
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders across risk, technology, legal, product and operations
  • Supporting strategic business growth and future operating model initiatives
  • Building a strong performance culture focused on customer and member outcomes
This is a highly visible role with significant influence across the broader business.


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will bring:
  • Proven leadership experience within life insurance
  • Technical life claims exposure
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
  • Experience leading transformation, change and operational improvement initiatives
  • A strong understanding of governance, risk and compliance within regulated environments
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution
  • A collaborative and people-focused leadership style
  • Full Australian working rights
