We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Store Assistant to assist with expert service, local advice, and essential supplies. • Location: Lancelin • Work Type: Full Time / Casual • Proudly serving and supporting our local rural community • Dynamic, hands-on role We are more than just a store; we are a foundational part of our local community. We supply everything from building materials to DIY tools, garden supplies, agricultural fittings, pet supplies and several other essential services to the community. We pride ourselves on country hospitality, expert local knowledge, and reliable service. We are looking for a practical, friendly, and energetic individual to join our store team. In this role, you will be the face of our business, helping local farmers, business owners, tradespeople, and DIY enthusiasts find exactly what they need. Your daily responsibilities will include: • Customer Service: Welcoming customers, answering & following through on inquiries by phone / email /face to face and providing practical product advice. • Counter & POS Operations: Processing sales, handling cash, and managing electronic transactions accurately. • Stock Management: Unloading deliveries, merchandising and ticketing shelves to keep the store looking its best. • Order Fulfillment: Helping load vehicles, matching & receiving inwards stock invoices, and organising local deliveries. • Store Upkeep: Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized retail and yard environment. Skills and Experience While hardware or rural retail experience is highly valued, a great attitude and willingness to learn are our top priorities. What we are looking for: • Physical Fitness: - we are on the go all day, you will certainly get your steps in each day. Lifting and unloading / unpacking is an ongoing daily task. • Communication Skills: A friendly, approachable manner with a passion for helping people. Sometimes a little mind reading or creative interpretation comes in handy. • Reliability: Punctual, trustworthy, and able to work independently or as part of a team. • Basic Tech Skills: Comfort using point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory computers. They are not hard to learn but are a major factor in our business. • Licensing: A valid Australian Driver’s License is required. A Forklift Licence (LF) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
