Care and Support Worker (Disability)
Supported Housing Development Group Pty Ltd$80,001 - $100,000
Listed 30 Sep 2026
Closes 31 Oct 2026
Supported Housing Development Group is a small boutique SIL provider operating group homes and
shared units for adults living with severe acquired brain injuries.
Most of our clients have experienced major car accidents resulting in complex care needs,
challenging behaviours and loss of memory.
Many of our residents are wheelchair dependent, have high personal care needs and swallowing
difficulties resulting in the need for hoist transfers, management of enteral feeding tubes, epilepsy,
catheters and splints.
We have a number of units in the suburb of North Strathfield and a group home in Bella Vista where
we need additional care staff primarily to cover our sleepover shifts which usually run from 6 pm to 9
am with an inactive sleepover period.
Care staff are required to provide personal care, medication administration, meal preparation,
housekeeping, lifestyle support and emergency support to residents in group homes and shared
home units under the direction of the co-ordinator and in accordance with policy and procedures.
Care staff must ensure each resident’s needs are being met to maintain health and well-being and
provide first aid when required. They need to monitor and report on each resident’s medical, physical
and emotional status including skin integrity, bowel and bladder function, food and fluid intake, range
of motion and inform relevant personnel of any issues or changes in the condition of the resident.
We are looking for caring and enthusiastic people who are able to speak, read and write in English
and be a team player able to work in a dynamic environment with other staff. You must be willing to
assist with intimate tasks including showering, dressing, grooming, changing and feeding.
To be considered for this position you will need to hold a relevant diploma or higher qualification or
have a minimum of three years of equivalent experience in a similar caring role; a current first aid
certificate; a valid drivers licence; and hold an NDIS worker screening check with clearance to work
with people living with a disability. We are looking for staff who have ongoing entitlements to work in
Australia rather than temporary and student visa holders. Please provide details of your work status when you apply.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a career in disability care. If you are interested in applying,
