About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Room Leader to join our early childhood education and care team in Naremburn.
As Room Leader, you will lead, guide and support a team of educators to provide high-quality, inclusive and engaging early childhood education and care. You will play an important role in creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, develop and thrive.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, sound knowledge of contemporary early childhood practices, and a commitment to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), the National Quality Standard (NQS) and the principles of the National Quality Framework (NQF).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, guide and support a team to provide high-quality early childhood education and care.
- Work in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law, applicable regulations and the National Quality Standard for Early Education and Care.
- Work in accordance with the Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics and the service’s Code of Conduct.
- Implement and uphold the service’s philosophy while undertaking all duties.
- Facilitate the implementation of contemporary, research-based practices within the service.
- Keep up to date with relevant early childhood theories, research and practices and apply these as directed.
- Maintain and uphold workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintain and uphold privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and assistance to educators and other staff across all areas of service operation.
- Provide ongoing support and assistance to the Director and Approved Provider/Management Committee.
- Maintain a sound knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
- Ensure a thorough understanding of the expectations and requirements outlined in the position documentation and perform duties in accordance with the service’s standards.
- Undertake other duties as reasonably requested by the Director.
About You

- Has experience working in an early childhood education and care environment, preferably in a Room Leader or similar leadership role.
- Has strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is passionate about supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.
- Has a sound understanding of the EYLF, NQS and National Quality Framework.
- Is committed to providing high-quality education and care.
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity and a strong commitment to ethical practice.
- Works collaboratively and is able to support and mentor other educators.
- Understands the importance of child safety, workplace health and safety, privacy and confidentiality.
- Is committed to continuous professional learning and contemporary, research-informed practice.
- Can uphold and contribute positively to the service’s philosophy, values and culture.
