Recreation Officer OTYC Pty Ltd trading as Empower Personal Training & Nutrition Bondi, Sydney NSW Full-Time Salary: $85,000 per annum PLUS SUPERANNUATION Empower Personal Training & Exercise Physiology is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Recreation Officer to join our growing team in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. We provide personalised exercise, fitness and recreational programs to a diverse range of clients, including older adults, people living with disability and members of the wider community. The Recreation Officer will be responsible for planning, organising, coordinating and delivering recreational, fitness and wellbeing activities that encourage participation, independence, social engagement and an active lifestyle. Key Responsibilities Plan, organise and coordinate recreational, fitness and wellbeing programs for individuals and groups. Develop activities appropriate to participants’ abilities, interests and individual goals. Coordinate group exercise, mobility, strength, balance and general recreational activities. Encourage participation and engagement in physical and recreational programs. Adapt activities to accommodate different ages, abilities and functional capacities. Liaise with participants, families, support workers, care coordinators and other relevant professionals where required including medical and allied health professionals. Monitor participation and program effectiveness and make appropriate adjustments. Coordinate timetables, activities, resources and equipment required for programs. Assist in developing new recreational programs and community-based activities. Maintain appropriate participant and program documentation. Promote a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. Work collaboratively with the broader Empower team to improve participant experiences and program delivery. About You The successful applicant will have: Relevant tertiary qualifications in sport, exercise, recreation or a related field. Experience planning and delivering exercise, recreation or community-based programs. Strong organisational and program coordination skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Confidence working with people of different ages and abilities. The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A strong commitment to providing inclusive, participant-focused programs. Experience working with older adults, people with disability, NDIS participants or community-based programs will be highly regarded.
