voco Darwin Suites is seeking a proven and experienced DUTY MANAGER to join our team. As Duty Manager, you are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring a seamless guest experience while maintaining high standards of service, safety, and operational efficiency. You will act as the senior leader on duty, providing support and guidance to all departments, managing guest interactions, resolving issues, and ensuring all operations align with IHG and voco brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
Deliver a warm, professional, and personalised guest experience in line with voco brand hallmarks
Maintain a visible presence in the lobby and guest areas, engaging with guests and ensuring their needs are met
Handle guest enquiries, requests, and feedback promptly and professionally
Resolve guest concerns effectively, ensuring appropriate service recovery and follow-up where required
Support VIP arrivals, special requests, and guest recognition initiatives
Promote hotel facilities, services, and local experiences to enhance the guest stay
Front Office Operations
Oversee daily Front Office operations and ensure smooth shift execution
Support Front Office team members with operational guidance, coaching, and decision-making
Ensure accurate check-in and check-out procedures are followed in line with brand standards
Monitor room availability, arrivals, departures, and room status updates within the PMS
Ensure effective communication between Front Office and other hotel departments
Assist with room allocation, upgrades, and operational decisions to maximise guest satisfaction and hotel performance
Team Leadership & Support
Act as the leader on duty, providing direction and support to team members across departments
Conduct shift briefings and ensure clear communication of operational priorities
Coach and mentor Front Office team members to improve service standards and performance
Assist with training and onboarding of new team members
Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with IHG values and voco brand standards
Operations Management
Monitor overall hotel operations and ensure service standards are maintained throughout the shift
Coordinate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and other departments to resolve operational matters
Monitor hotel occupancy, guest movements, and operational challenges
Ensure accurate completion of daily reports, handover notes, and operational records
Support revenue optimisation through effective room management and upselling opportunities
Complete any other operational duties as directed by the Hotel Manager
Safety & Security
Ensure the safety and security of guests, team members, and the property at all times
Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and guest safety concerns
Ensure compliance with fire, life safety, WHS, and security procedures
Report and document incidents accurately and promptly
Maintain awareness of potential risks and take proactive action to minimise issues
Administrative Duties
Manage daily communications, including emails, operational logs, and departmental updates
Maintain accurate guest records, incident reports, and shift handover documentation
Monitor PMS/POS systems to ensure accurate information and system updates
Assist with financial controls, cash handling, and transaction accuracy
Support completion of departmental audits and compliance requirements
