Disability Support Worker – SIL & Community Participation
About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate, reliable and person-centred Disability Support Workers to join our team in the Rockhampton area.
You will provide 1:1 support to NDIS participants across Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Participation (CP) settings. The shifts available include Day shifts for 6-8 hours, and combined Afternoon and Sleepover shifts. You will support participants to live as independently as possible, achieve their goals, participate in their community and enjoy a safe and meaningful lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality 1:1 support tailored to each participant's individual needs and goals.
Assist participants with daily living activities and maintaining independence.
Provide support within SIL homes and in the community.
Support participants to attend appointments, activities, social outings and community events.
Assist with meal preparation, household tasks and personal routines where required.
Encourage choice, independence, dignity and active participation.
Follow individual support plans, NDIS requirements and organisational policies.
Maintain accurate and timely progress notes and documentation.
Work collaboratively with participants, families, support coordinators and other professionals.
Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive environment.
Essential Requirements
NDIS Worker Screening Check – mandatory
Working with Children Check (WWCC) – mandatory
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
Assist Clients with Medication certificate, or willingness to obtain,
Previous experience in disability support, aged care, community services or a similar role is highly regarded.
Current Australian driver's licence and reliable transport- Mandatory
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication, reliability and professional boundaries.
Commitment to person-centred support and the rights of people with disability.
