Your new role

Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and taking pride in creating and maintaining beautiful green spaces? We are seeking a Parks Operator to join a local council team and help maintain the parks, reserves, gardens, and public spaces that our community enjoys every day.
As a Parks Operator, no two days are the same. Your duties may include:

  • Maintaining parks, gardens, and public open spaces through weeding, planting, mulching, watering, pruning, and spraying
  • Driving council vehicles and trucks between various park and garden locations
  • Carrying out verge and streetscape maintenance to keep public areas clean and presentable
  • Operating a range of equipment and machinery, including:
    - Whipper snippers
    - Blowers
    - Ride-on mowers
    - Chainsaws
    - Other grounds maintenance equipment
  • Undertaking physical outdoor work and manual handling tasks in a safe and efficient manner

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you'll have:
  • Previous experience in parks and gardens, landscaping, horticulture, or grounds maintenance
  • A White Card (essential)
  • MR or HR Driver's Licence (highly desirable)
  • Chainsaw Ticket (highly desirable)
  • Cert in Horticulture, Turf or equivalent (highly desirable)
  • Experience operating outdoor maintenance equipment safely and effectively
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to work as part of a team
