The Process Technician will be responsible for the control, performance and continuous improvement of the Business's pasta manufacturing processes, from mixing and extrusion through to drying and packaging. The role combines hands-on process control with technical problem-solving, equipment care and quality assurance, to ensure production runs safely, efficiently and to specification.

Full time, salaried position, 38 hours per week, 5 days/week.
Annual Salary: $80k + Superannuation.
Task & responsibilities
Their duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Starting up, controlling and shutting down production processes and equipment in line with standard operating procedures, maintaining safe and efficient operation at optimal production levels.
- Carrying out routine monitoring, sampling and inspections throughout each shift, including product weight, moisture levels, texture and batch specifications, and recording results in shift logs and production records.
- Analysing production and quality data, and adjusting process parameters such as dough hydration, extrusion pressure, and drying temperature and humidity, to improve product quality and output and reduce waste.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting process and equipment problems, including product defects, process deviations and machinery faults, and implementing corrective actions.
- Developing, reviewing and refining process settings and standard operating procedures, including start-up, changeover and shutdown procedures.
- Performing routine maintenance, inspections and adjustments on production equipment, and supporting maintenance trades with repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Working with technical, quality and maintenance personnel on equipment performance, production issues and process improvements.
- Reporting to management on safety matters, process performance and production output, and escalating technical issues that affect plant productivity.
- Ensuring all manufacturing processes comply with food safety, workplace health and safety, and operational requirements.
- Providing relief operation across production areas as required to maintain continuity of production.
Qualification & experience
Qualification requirement: AQF Certificate II or higher. At least 1 year of relevant full time work experience in the last 5 years may substitute for the formal qualifications.
Work experience requirement: The successful applicant must have at least 1 year of full-time work experience as a Process Technician in Australia in the last 5 years.
If the applicant has not undertaken the required 1-year work experience in Australia, they must have 2 years of work experience.
