The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and assembling joinery components and timber fittings to the required dimensions and quality standards, using a range of hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery. The role will also involve measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling timber components in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements. The successful candidate will inspect completed work, maintain accurate measurements and ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently in accordance with workplace requirements.

Task & responsibilities

•    Read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications to determine joinery requirements.

•    Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and other joinery materials accurately.

•    Manufacture and assemble timber joinery components using appropriate hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery.

•    Form and assemble timber joints and fittings in accordance with specifications.

•    Check measurements, alignment, quality and finish of completed joinery work.

•    Identify and rectify defects or inaccuracies where required.

•    Maintain tools, machinery and work areas in a clean and safe condition and comply with workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualification & experience

•    Minimum 1 year of relevant experience working as a Joiner or in a closely related role.

•    Relevant trade qualification in Joinery, Carpentry, Cabinet Making or a related field.

•    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

•    Strong skills in measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling timber components.

•    Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery.

•    Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safe workmanship.
