Ausghan Building Services PTY LTD

Ausghan Building Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our construction team in Sydney. This is a permanent full-time position suited to an experienced tradesperson with a strong background in residential and/or commercial painting and decorating.

The Painter will be responsible for preparing, painting, decorating and finishing a wide range of interior and exterior surfaces across building, construction and renovation projects. The role covers the complete painting process, from preparing and protecting work areas and surfaces through to selecting and mixing paints, applying coatings and completing final finishing and restoration work.

A key component of the position is delivering high-quality, durable and visually consistent finishes in accordance with project specifications, approved samples and client requirements. The successful candidate will be experienced in working with different surfaces and materials, including timber, plaster, masonry and metal, and be proficient in applying paints, stains, varnishes, primers, sealers and other coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.

The position also involves specialist decorative painting and finishing work. This includes applying lime-based, mineral-based, textured, multi-tonal and polished finishes, as well as creating stone-effect, marble-effect, aged-plaster and other decorative finishes. The Painter may also undertake detailed work on feature walls, arches, columns, niches and other architectural elements, including decorative patterns and geometric finishes.

The successful candidate will be expected to accurately mix and colour-match paints and pigments, reproduce specified colours, textures and decorative effects, and repair or restore existing painted and decorative surfaces so that new work integrates with surrounding finishes.

The role requires a high level of attention to detail, practical painting expertise and craftsmanship. The Painter must be capable of organising and carrying out work independently while also working effectively with supervisors and other tradespeople as part of the wider construction team.

The position requires 3–5 years of relevant painting experience, preferably across residential and/or commercial construction projects. Candidates should demonstrate strong surface preparation and finishing skills, experience with a variety of painting application methods, and a sound understanding of work health and safety requirements, including the safe use of ladders, scaffolding, painting equipment and construction tools.

Experience in traditional decorative painting techniques, including Middle Eastern-inspired textured, patterned, multi-tonal and hand-applied finishes, will be highly regarded.
