Formwork Carpenter

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced full time Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with a focus on formwork and structural frameworks, aligning with our commitment to excellence in construction services.

Benefits

SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $100,000 plus superannuation

Task & responsibilities

1. Read and interpret construction drawings, engineering plans and specifications to determine formwork layouts, dimensions, materials and installation methods;
2. Estimate and order timber, plywood, steel and proprietary formwork systems and materials required for each stage of works;
3. Set out and mark formwork positions using levels, string lines and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy against plans;
4. Measure, cut, shape and assemble timber, plywood and other materials to build formwork panels, boxing and moulds;
5. Erect, brace and secure formwork for concrete footings, slabs, columns, walls, beams and stairs;
6. Install props, shoring and falsework to support formwork and maintain structural stability during concrete placement;
7. Check formwork for alignment, level, plumb and dimensional accuracy before and during concrete pours, making adjustments as required;
8. Coordinate with steel fixers, concreters and site supervisors to schedule pours and ensure works progress in line with the project program;
9. Strip, clean, repair and store formwork components after concrete has cured so they can be reused on subsequent works;
10. Operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition;
11. Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, site procedures, building codes and relevant Australian Standards; and
12. Assist in training and supervising apprentices and less experienced workers.

Qualification & experience

• Holds at least an AQF Certificate III in Carpentry, Formwork or a related field; and
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience
• Attention to detail and accuracy in measurement;
• Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines;
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors and at heights;
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
