The Curry Affair Curry Affair is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join its kitchen team and support the preparation and delivery of its menu.
About the Position
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of dishes in accordance with established recipes, food quality standards and kitchen procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality standards and customer requirements.
- Preparing ingredients by cleaning, cutting, chopping, weighing and measuring as required.
- Cooking and presenting dishes using appropriate cooking methods and techniques.
- Monitoring the quality, freshness and presentation of food throughout preparation and service.
- Assisting with menu preparation and making adjustments to dishes where required.
- Ensuring food is prepared and stored in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, cooking equipment and food preparation areas.
- Checking and appropriately storing food supplies and ingredients.
- Assisting with stock control and minimising food wastage.
- Working effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely food service.
- Following workplace health and safety, food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have:
- Minimum 1–2 years of full-time experience as a Cook or in a closely related role.
- Relevant Certificate III or AQF Certificate IV in commercial cookery is required.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Ability to prepare and cook a variety of dishes consistently to required quality standards.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to maintaining food quality, cleanliness and presentation.

Employment Type: Full-time – minimum 38 hours per week
Salary: $77,000 – $85,000 per annum + Superannuation
