About the Role

Our client is a QLD government organisation based in the Brisbane CBD. They are currently seeking an AO4 Assistant Finance Officer to come in and work with them on a temp contract until 28/05/2027 with possible extensions.


Requirements for this role include:

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial management practices and processes across accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate cards, banking, debt recovery,
  • Experience with Financial systems for customer and vendor payment management and reporting (SAP is preferred but open to other similar systems experience)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administrative Support & Workflow Management: Provide high-level administrative oversight by reviewing and coordinating financial management correspondence, reports, and documentation to manage critical information and meet departmental deadlines.
  • Compliance & Information Governance: Ensure all documentation complies with best practice guidelines, corporate governance processes, and legislative requirements.
  • Financial Data Integrity & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate, clear, and auditable comments within finance systems to ensure data integrity while strictly adhering to the Information Privacy Act 2009.
  • Stakeholder Inquiry Management: Respond to phone and email inquiries from internal and external stakeholders to deliver seamless alarm account management and support refund processing.
  • Process Improvement & Financial Governance: Contribute to the review, development, and implementation of financial practices and procedures to drive continuous improvement and align with service delivery standards.
  • Relationship Management & Issue Resolution: Build and maintain effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholder networks to support financial service delivery and ensure timely resolution of issues.
