Independent Seafood Producers Pty Ltd is an established Australian commercial fishing company operating vessels within Australian Fishing Zones.
We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the following full-time positions:
- Deck Hands
- Fishing Hands
- Master Fishers
- Ship’s Engineers
- Ship’s Masters
- Ship’s Officers
- Seafood Process Workers
Applicants will be based in Portsmith, Cairns QLD 4870, but may be required to work in other locations depending on vessel movements and operational requirements. Fishing positions involve extended periods at sea and working in changing weather and sea conditions.
DECK HAND
Applicants must have relevant commercial fishing experience. Duties include standing lookout watches, assisting with cargo operations, maintaining deck equipment and rigging, handling fishing gear and assisting with catch handling.
Salary: $71,481 to $75,000 per annum plus superannuation.
FISHING HAND
Applicants must have relevant commercial fishing experience. Duties include preparing and operating fishing gear, setting and hauling lines, nets, pots and traps, retrieving and sorting catch and maintaining fishing equipment.
Salary: $71,481 to $75,000 per annum plus superannuation.
MASTER FISHER
Applicants must have relevant commercial fishing experience and hold the required qualifications, licences or certificates. Duties include managing fishing operations, navigation, vessel operations and crew supervision.
Salary: $75,000 to $95,000 per annum plus superannuation.
SHIP’S ENGINEER
Applicants must have relevant marine engineering experience and hold the required qualifications, licences or certificates. Duties include operating, inspecting, maintaining and repairing vessel engines, machinery and mechanical systems.
Salary: $75,000 to $95,000 per annum plus superannuation.
SHIP’S MASTER
Applicants must have relevant vessel command experience and hold the required qualifications, licences or certificates. Duties include commanding and navigating the vessel, managing fishing operations, supervising crew and maintaining vessel safety.
Salary: $75,000 to $95,000 per annum plus superannuation.
SHIP’S OFFICER
Applicants must have relevant maritime experience and hold the required qualifications, licences or certificates. Duties include assisting with navigation and vessel operations, maintaining watches, supporting fishing operations and maintaining vessel safety.
Salary: $75,000 to $95,000 per annum plus superannuation.
SEAFOOD PROCESS WORKER
Applicants must have relevant seafood processing experience. Duties include unloading, sorting, grading and processing seafood, filleting fish, packing products, operating processing equipment and maintaining clean and hygienic work areas.
Salary: $71,481 to $75,000 per annum plus superannuation.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have relevant skills and experience, hold required licences or qualifications, provide verifiable references and provide evidence of sea time or logbooks where relevant. Applicants must be physically capable of performing the inherent requirements of the position.
