We are seeking an experienced and passionate Child Care Worker to join our dedicated team. This role involves supporting the daily operation of the centre and assisting in delivering a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for children aged 0 to 6 years.

Duties

• Assist in delivering educational and recreational activities for children aged 0–6 years.
• Support structured programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play to ensure their safety and engagement.
• Assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious meals and snacks.
• Help with personal hygiene tasks such as toileting and nappy changes.
• Set up and clean activity areas, maintaining hygiene and safety standards.
• Observe and record child behaviour and development for review by lead educators.
• Assist in transitions including arrivals, departures, and group changes.
• Support inclusion of children with additional needs or diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Maintain cleanliness of toys, equipment, and learning spaces.

• Promote and maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children.
• Build respectful, positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Ensure adherence to Arkie Education’s policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
• Report any concerns about child wellbeing, behaviour, or safety to senior staff.
• Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards at all times.
• Support continuous improvement by participating in meetings, training, and reflection.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene, infection control, and health protocols.
• Ensure that the educational program aligns with the NQF and meets individual needs.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.
• Provide feedback on children’s engagement, learning outcomes, and care needs.

Qualification & experience

Qualification & Experience

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
• Valid NSW Working with Children Check.
• Current First Aid Certificate 
• Minimum of 1 year full-time experience working in a regulated early childhood education and care setting.
• Familiarity with child development principles, routine care, and safety practices.
• Passion for early childhood development and education.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Team-oriented, empathetic, and committed to continuous learning.
• Understanding of EYLF and National Quality Framework (NQF)
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
