Your new company
Hays is partnering with a major operator of thermal generation assets in Western Australia. This is an opportunity to join an experienced site-based engineering team responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability and performance of critical plant and electrical infrastructure.
Your new role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join a thermal generation facility on a 6-month contract.
Supporting gas turbines and critical plant assets, you'll work across maintenance, reliability, fault investigations and plant improvement projects. This role is well suited to an electrical engineer with experience in asset management, maintenance, reliability or operational plant environments.
Key responsibilities:

Support the reliability and performance of electrical plant and thermal generation assets

Investigate electrical faults and equipment failures

Deliver plant improvement and upgrade projects

Support maintenance, outage and shutdown activities

Provide technical support across generators, transformers and switchgear

Conduct root cause investigations and develop practical solutions

Manage contractors and coordinate site-based works

Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to improve asset performance
What you'll need to succeed

Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering

5+ years' relevant industry experience
-
Experience working with generators, transformers, switchgear and electrical plant

Background in thermal generation, gas turbines, heavy industry, mining or similar operational environments

Experience in asset management, maintenance or reliability engineering

Experience delivering plant upgrades, brownfield projects or equipment replacements
-
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
