About the role Tamworth Hospital is seeking motivated and passionate Registered Nurses to join our 14-bed Level 5 Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Our ICU provides care to critically ill patients across the northern half of Hunter New England Local Health District, delivering complex multi-system life support and responding effectively to emergency situations. Our Supported Introduction to Critical Care Program provides a structured and supportive pathway for nurses seeking to transition into Intensive Care Nursing. The program is designed to make critical care nursing accessible to Registered Nurses in a supported learning environment. You will have the opportunity to build your clinical knowledge and skills while developing competence in a range of critical care practices and caring for critically ill patients. You will be supported by an experienced education and leadership team, including a Nurse Educator, two Clinical Nurse Educators, Nursing Management, the Nurse Unit Manager and Nurse Manager, as well as supportive senior nursing staff and mentors. About you We are looking for Registered Nurses who are: Motivated and passionate about providing high-quality patient care. Committed to developing their knowledge and skills in critical care nursing. Excellent communicators who work effectively with patients, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team. Empathetic and able to provide compassionate care to critically ill patients and their families. Able to think critically, problem solve effectively and respond appropriately in complex clinical situations. Committed to working collaboratively and contributing positively to a supportive team environment. Essential Requirements Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA Previous intensive care experience is not required for applicants seeking to participate in the Supported Introduction to Critical Care Program. We will support you to develop the specialised knowledge, skills and clinical competence required for a successful transition into critical care nursing. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
