Coffs Harbour Hospital is a 357 bedregional referral center supporting 3 peripheral sites, situated on stunningly beautiful sunny Mid North Coast of NSW serving a population of ~160,000 residents, with 50,000 presentations per year and an admission rate of 35%. Paediatrics cases make up 23% of presentations and are cared for in a dedicated unit with the ED. The case mix provides a perfect learning environment to grow into a well round Emergency Physician. Why Coffs Harbour as training home for you: Training Experience at Coffs Harbour Emergence Department Coffs Harbour is a mixed Emergency Department, accredited with ACEM for 36 months core ED training time, including TS4 accreditation for ED and Pediatrics. We provide a wholistic structured training experience, mapped out to with your DEMT to meet all requirements other the core metropolitan rotation. Ample opportunity for critical procedures; lines, intubations, NIV, ICC and thora-paracentesis. Trainees can also grow their skill in minor procedures including suturing, fracture reduction, plasteringENT and ophthalmology assessment within the Fast Track area. A dedicated shifts within the dedicated Paediatric zone of the ED assist with consolidation of skill and completion for the ACEM Paediatric logbook requirement. Trainees will have the opportunity to rotate through: .ICU .Anesthetics .Pediatrics .Cardiology .General Medicine .Psychiatry .Radiology .Macksville Emergency Department - Blended Supervision Our skilled education team provide a structed curriculum to support trainee's progress through their entire professional development towards becoming a FACEM. We run a dedicated curriculum for the Primary and Fellowship written and OSCE exams consistently achieving outstanding results. Regular access to the Simulation Centre and procedural training will provide you with the skills to tackle any clinical scenario. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category. Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the health care team. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and others members of the health care team. Demonstrated good organizational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment. .Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management. Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education. Current-Valid Driver's License.
