The Retail Manager is responsible for the overall daily operations, sales performance and profitability of the store. This includes leading and developing the retail team, managing inventory and supplier orders, delivering excellent customer service, and ensuring the store operates safely, efficiently and in line with company standards and policies.

Benefits

1. AUD $80,000 – $90,000 per year plus superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience

Task & responsibilities

You will be responsible for the overall running of the store, driving sales performance and leading a small retail team. Your duties will include:

1. Managing the daily operations, sales performance and profitability of the store
2. Leading, rostering, training and supervising retail sales staff
3. Setting and achieving sales targets and KPIs, and preparing sales and performance reports
4. Determining the product mix, placing orders with suppliers, and managing stock levels and inventory control
5. Planning merchandise displays, pricing and promotions to maximise sales
6. Providing expert product advice and excellent customer service, and resolving customer complaints and enquiries
7. Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, cash handling, banking and reconciling daily takings
8. Coordinating customer deliveries and bed assembly services with drivers and customers
9. Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety obligations and Australian consumer law

Qualification & experience

1. A relevant Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Retail, Business or Management, or at least 1 year of substantial retail management experience, ideally in furniture, bedding, electrical or other large-goods retail
2. Demonstrated experience supervising and rostering retail staff (at least 1 years in a supervisory role)
3. Experience with POS systems, stock control and inventory management
4. Strong customer service, sales and communication skills
5. Current Australian driver's licence (desirable, for store and delivery coordination)
6. Availability to work retail trading hours, including weekends and public holidays

We supply mattresses, bedding and furniture to households across the region, backed by delivery and professional bed assembly services. We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Port Kennedy store.
