Store Manager

The Store Manager will be responsible for organising and controlling the day-to-day retail operations of the business, including staff management, sales, stock and inventory control, supplier coordination, customer service, financial performance and compliance.

The key responsibilities will include:

• Managing and coordinating the day-to-day retail operations of the cafe and associated retail activities;
• Planning and implementing operational procedures to ensure efficient and consistent business operations;
• Supervising, coordinating and rostering employees and allocating duties according to operational requirements;
• Assisting with recruitment, staff induction, training, performance management and development;
• Monitoring sales performance, revenue, operating costs and profitability;
• Preparing and monitoring budgets, financial reports and operational performance information;
• Managing stock levels, ordering, receiving, storage and inventory control to minimise wastage and maintain appropriate stock availability;
• Liaising and negotiating with suppliers regarding product availability, pricing, purchasing and delivery arrangements;
• Monitoring product presentation, merchandising and retail displays;
• Developing and implementing promotional and sales initiatives to increase customer engagement and revenue;
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and responding to customer feedback and complaints;
• Ensuring compliance with applicable workplace health and safety, food safety, licensing, employment and other regulatory requirements;
• Developing and maintaining operational policies and procedures;
• Monitoring business performance and identifying opportunities for improved efficiency, sales and profitability; and
• Performing other managerial and operational duties consistent with the position.

Skills and Experience Required

The successful applicant will have:

• Relevant qualifications in retail/store management, business management, hospitality management or a related discipline; or equivalent relevant experience;
• At least 1-year relevant experience in retail/store management or a closely related managerial role;
• Demonstrated experience managing staff, including rostering, supervision, training and performance management;
• Demonstrated experience in stock control, purchasing and supplier management;
• Experience monitoring sales, budgets, costs and business performance;
• Strong customer service and complaint-resolution skills;
• Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain operational procedures;
• Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills;
• Ability to work independently and make effective operational decisions;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced customer-facing environment; and
• A strong understanding of workplace health and safety and relevant food-service/retail compliance requirements.

We provide cafe, takeaway and retail food and beverage services to our local customers and manage day-to-day retail operations including customer service, sales, stock management, supplier relationships and staff operations.

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to take responsibility for the efficient and profitable operation of the business's retail activities and to lead our team in delivering high-quality customer service and operational standards.
