About the Role:
The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is looking for an experienced registered nurse to step into a Nurse Educator role that directly shapes clinical practice across the Medical Division at Lyell McEwin Health Service. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract through to 25 June 2027 - a genuine opportunity to influence care standards at one of Adelaide's busiest metropolitan health services.
What You'll Be Doing
Design, deliver and evaluate education programs that build nursing capability across the Medical Division at Lyell McEwin Health Service
Support clinical staff through orientation, competency assessment and ongoing professional development activities
Partner with unit managers and senior clinicians to identify learning needs and translate them into practical, evidence-based education
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and help embed best-practice standards into everyday clinical care
What You'll Bring
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Substantial clinical experience within a medical or acute inpatient setting
Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate adult learning programs in a health context
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse clinical teams across varying levels of experience
Familiarity with SA Health policy frameworks, clinical governance and accreditation standards
Relevant postgraduate qualification in nursing education or clinical nursing (or progress towards one) highly regarded
Clinical Experience in Respiratory and Cardiac Nursing highly regarded
To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse-Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.

An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.

NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide's north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
Lyell McEwin Hospital-the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital-a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
Mental Health Services-adult and older persons mental health services and statewide forensic mental health services, across hospital and community settings.
Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Primary Health Care Services-provides culturally responsive primary healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in-hospital and across four community sites.
Primary Health Care Services-including GP Plus sites at Elizabeth, Modbury and Gilles Plains.
