Employment Type: Temporary Full Time Remuneration: - Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: CAM30916 Position Tagline We are seeking applications from enthusiastic and committed candidates for the Infectious Diseases Trainee position at The Sutherland Hospital for the 2027 clinical year. Where you'll be working The Sutherland Hospital is a 375 bed Major Metropolitan Teaching Hospital affiliated with the University of NSW, located in the Sutherland Shire 25 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. A 44 bed Emergency Department which includes 3 resuscitation bays, dedicated Adult and Paediatric Fast Track areas, an 8 bed ED Short Stay Unit, a collocated Radiology Department with CT scanner. The addition of 60 new acute inpatient beds, including 6 additional ICU beds and a 16 bed General Medical Unit. There are 24hr diagnostic services and excellent support from Mental Health, ICU and community-aged care services and nursing staff. Sutherland Hospital provides a 24-7 Interventional Cardiology service. Inpatient services include most subspecialties; General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, Vascular Surgery, Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Oncology, Renal, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Mental Health. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category. Completion of at least 4 years full time equivalent post-graduate years. A demonstrated vocational interest in clinical infectious diseases. A professional attitude and flexibility, with a preparedness and ability to participate in after-hours overtime and on-call rosters. Demonstrates ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise. Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal and time management skills and demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
