Heavy Duty Diesel Motor Mechanic
Location: Esperance, Western Australia
Employment Type: Full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm
Salary: above $100,000 pa, depending on skills and experience
About the Position
Primestar Nominees Pty Ltd TA Kip & Steve’s Mechanical Repairs [ABN 70 062 829 350] is a family-owned mechanical workshop in Esperance, Western Australia. We are seeking a qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our workshop team on a full-time basis.
The successful applicant will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicles, diesel engines, trucks, trailers and associated mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, scheduled maintenance and mechanical repairs on heavy vehicles and diesel-powered equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and diesel engine faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
- Repair and maintain heavy trucks, trailers and associated components.
- Identify mechanical faults and undertake repairs efficiently and to manufacturer and workplace standards.
- Work with leading heavy vehicle brands, including Scania, Volvo and Mack.
- Complete repair documentation, service records and maintenance reports as required.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and manufacturer specifications.
- Work independently and as part of a small workshop team.
Essential Requirements
- Australian-recognised Heavy Vehicle / Heavy Diesel Mechanic trade qualification, or equivalent recognised qualification.
- At least 3 year relevant experience in heavy vehicle mechanical servicing, maintenance and repairs.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair diesel-powered heavy vehicles.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Current legal right to work in Australia.
Desirable
- Experience working with Scania, Volvo and/or Mack heavy vehicles.
- Experience with heavy vehicle and trailer repairs.
- HR, HC or MC driver's licence.
- Previous workshop experience in a regional or heavy transport environment.
