SPRINT NETWORKS PTY LTD is an Australian ICT consulting and telecommunications provider delivering resilient, security-first networking, SD-WAN, satellite connectivity and remote access solutions for businesses across Australia and the Pacific. We are currently seeking a full-time Cyber Security Engineer to join our team, with the role based in Glenfield, NSW. This position is 38 hours per week, and the ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience and hold a bachelor’s or master's in information technology, computing or a relevant field. A competitive salary of $79,000 to $84,000, plus superannuation, is on offer.

Task & responsibilities

•Analyse business requirements, technical specifications and system requirements to design, develop and implement software applications, security solutions, automation tools and supporting application components for enterprise technology environments.

•Design, develop, modify and maintain software code, scripts, application integrations and automation solutions using appropriate programming languages and development frameworks to support Sprint Networks’ ICT consulting, cybersecurity and managed technology services.

•Develop and maintain software components, APIs, connectors, parsers and automation workflows that integrate enterprise security platforms, monitoring solutions, network management systems and cloud-based technologies.

•Interpret technical designs, system requirements and functional specifications to develop application solutions that improve operational efficiency, system reliability and security across customer environments.

•Perform application development activities including coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting and optimisation of software solutions to ensure applications perform according to technical specifications, quality standards and business requirements.

•Conduct software testing, validation and quality assurance activities including functional testing, integration testing, regression testing and troubleshooting of application defects to ensure reliable software performance.

•Identify, analyse and resolve software faults, application errors, integration issues and performance deficiencies through debugging, root cause analysis and technical remediation.

•Develop and maintain secure software development practices by implementing security controls throughout the software development lifecycle, including secure coding practices, vulnerability remediation and application security assessments.

•Perform static and dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST), code reviews and vulnerability assessments across applications, software components, APIs, libraries and third-party integrations to identify and address security risks.

•Develop automation scripts, software utilities and technical tools using scripting languages such as Python, Bash and PowerShell to improve system administration, monitoring, security operations and software deployment processes.

•Design and maintain application integrations and data processing workflows between enterprise platforms including SIEM, XDR/MDR, monitoring systems, cloud services and security management platforms.

•Develop, configure and maintain software-based monitoring solutions, detection workflows, alerting logic and automation processes to improve visibility, operational performance and threat detection capabilities.

•Collaborate with network engineers, cybersecurity specialists, infrastructure teams, vendors and customers to analyse requirements, design solutions and implement secure technology improvements.

•Assist in designing and implementing continuous integration, continuous delivery and DevSecOps practices to improve software development processes, deployment efficiency and system reliability.

•Prepare and maintain technical documentation including software design documents, system specifications, configuration records, testing procedures, operational manuals and troubleshooting guides.

•Analyse operational metrics, application performance data and system events to identify opportunities for improvement, optimise software performance and enhance service delivery.

•Provide technical advice and recommendations regarding software solutions, application upgrades, system improvements and technology strategies aligned with customer requirements.

•Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of secure enterprise applications, cloud integrations and technology solutions across Sprint Networks’ customer environments.

•Evaluate, configure, maintain and monitor enterprise cybersecurity systems including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, endpoint detection and response platforms and SIEM solutions to identify, investigate and remediate security threats and incidents across customer ICT environments.
