A well-established Tasmanian organisation is seeking a Facilities & Compliance Coordinator to lead a small maintenance team and oversee the safe and efficient operation of its facilities.
This newly created position offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on maintenance work with leadership, contractor management, compliance, and workplace health and safety responsibilities.

Your new role
Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for coordinating maintenance activities, managing contractors, leading a team of four, and ensuring all facilities remain safe, compliant, and well maintained.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and mentoring a small facilities and maintenance team
  • Coordinating reactive and preventative maintenance programs
  • Managing external contractors and service providers
  • Conducting site inspections, safety audits and risk assessments
  • Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintaining compliance documentation and safety registers
  • Overseeing minor projects and building maintenance works
  • Supporting emergency preparedness and safety initiatives
  • Driving a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will ideally come from a trade, maintenance, facilities or operational background and have experience balancing hands-on responsibilities with coordination and leadership duties.
You will bring:
  • Previous facilities, maintenance, building services or asset management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing contractors and service providers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and lead a team
  • Current driver's licence
  • Current National Police Check
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (WWVP)
