EXCAVATOR OPERATORS

The Excavator Operators will be responsible for safely & efficiently operating excavators and associated earthmoving equipment across demolition, site clearing and construction-related projects. The positions involve undertaking controlled demolition works, excavation, material handling, site preparation and clean-up activities across residential, commercial, industrial, mining and government project sites. Successful candidates will be required to live and work in Kalgoorlie, as these are locally based positions and are not FIFO roles.

Tasks & responsibilities: 

Operating excavators of various sizes to undertake demolition, excavation, site clearing and material-handling activities.

Carrying out controlled mechanical demolition of residential, commercial and industrial structures in accordance with project specifications and site safety procedures.

Using excavator attachments including hydraulic breakers, grabs, buckets, pulverisers and other demolition attachments as required for specific works.

Breaking, lifting, separating, sorting and loading concrete, steel, timber and other demolition materials for recycling, salvage, transport or disposal.

Excavating soil, rubble and other materials and loading trucks, bins and processing equipment as required.

Undertaking bulk earthworks, trenching, levelling, backfilling and general site preparation associated with demolition and clearing projects.

Skills required: 

Demonstrated experience operating excavators in demolition, civil construction, earthworks, mining or a similar heavy-industry environment (at least 12 months of full-time experience, or equivalent).

Sound knowledge of excavator controls, operating limitations and safe working practices.

Experience using demolition attachments such as hydraulic breakers, grabs or pulverisers is highly regarded.

Ability to interpret site plans, instructions and safe work procedures.

Strong awareness of plant exclusion zones, underground services and risks associated with demolition activities.

Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a site-based team.

Willingness and ability to travel to regional and remote project locations throughout Western Australia.
