The Client PR Motors Pty Ltd trading as Innisfail Motors Group is an Australian automotive business providing vehicle sales, servicing, repairs and maintenance services. The business requires skilled automotive servicing and repair to maintain safe, reliable and efficient vehicle operations. They are now seeking a Motor Mechanic to join their team at Innisfail, QLD. The Role The Motor Mechanic will inspect, diagnose, service, repair and maintain motor vehicles. The role will involve identifying mechanical faults, performing scheduled maintenance and repairs, testing vehicle performance and ensuring all work is completed safely and to required automotive standards. The annual salary is $82,000 plus superannuation. The Responsibilities ? Inspect motor vehicles to identify mechanical faults, defects and maintenance requirements. ? Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures. ? Perform routine vehicle servicing and scheduled maintenance. ? Repair and replace engines, transmissions, suspension, steering and braking components. ? Repair and maintain cooling, fuel, exhaust and other vehicle systems. ? Carry out engine tune-ups and adjust vehicle components as required. ? Remove, repair and replace defective mechanical components. ? Perform vehicle maintenance. ? Test vehicles following servicing and repairs to ensure safe and proper operation. ? Follow manufacturer specifications, repair procedures and workplace safety requirements. ? Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, repairs and parts used. ? Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment and workshop areas in a clean and safe condition. The Requirements ? Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Automotive Technology or a related field. ? At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic, Automotive Technician or in a similar role. ? At least 1 year of experience inspecting, diagnosing and repairing motor vehicles. ? At least 1 year of experience performing vehicle servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs. ? At least 1 year of experience diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, braking, steering and suspension systems. ? Must have at least 1 year experience working with Intercontinental, European and Asian car makes ? Must have at least 1 year of motor mechanical experience with diesels, AWDs, 4WDs, ? Must have at least 1 year of experience with Hybrid and EV vehicles ? Must have at least 1 year of experience using OBD-II diagnostic tools, workshop equipment and vehicle service information. ? Current Australian driver's licence appropriate to the vehicles operated in the course of employment. ? Knowledge of automotive repair procedures, manufacturer specifications, workplace health and safety and vehicle safety requirements. ? Strong mechanical, diagnostic, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills. ? Ability to work safely, efficiently and independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
