Position: Full-time Chef
Location: Boronia, Vic 3155
Salary: $80000- $85000 per annum plus Superannuation
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent with at least 1 year of experience as a chef.
- Experience in working within a dynamic and high performing kitchen.
- Food Safety legislation knowledge is required.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
- Shares a passion for the hospitality industry.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Plan menus, determine food and labour expenses as per customer orders, restaurant's budget, and other commercial aspects.
- Cook and prepare a diverse range of dishes with quality and precision.
- Ensure the quality of dishes during all stages of preparation and presentation and ensure all items are properly plated, garnished and presented in an appealing manner.
- Deliver prepared food smoothly to customers, ensuring orders are correct and timely.
- Visualize every situation and takes independent decision to handle the things.
- Effectively manage and direct the activities of kitchen staff, including supervision, training, and creating cost-effective rosters.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address issues promptly and efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Maintain a positive, timely, and enthusiastic attitude under pressure, with a commitment to interacting with clients and staff.
- Strong understanding of hygiene practices, safe food handling, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Collaborating with front-of-house staff to guarantee seamless and efficient food service.
- Direct the kitchen team and monitor the cooking process to ensure that food prepared meets any dietary needs.
- Regularly monitor, analyse, and adjust kitchen metrics, including meals, wages, and costs, providing reports as needed.
- Maintain inventory by regularly checking the stock levels, complete the stock sheets, and order the items as necessary.
