The Trustee for AMBANI FAMILY TRUST is a Western Australian transport business seeking an experienced, safety-focused Truck Driver to join its operation. We are after a driver who takes pride in their work, maintains a high professional standard behind the wheel and can keep freight moving on schedule when the pressure is on.

Skills and Attributes

• Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening
• Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Dependable and punctual, with your own reliable means of transport to and from work
• Able to follow established safe work procedures, including manual handling when loading, unloading and restraining freight for transit
• Drive safely and in full compliance with the road rules at all times
• Capable of carrying out basic maintenance on trucks and trailers
• Well presented, courteous and professional at all times
• Prior experience using electric hand trolleys and handheld scanning devices

The Ideal Candidate

• Willing to work night shifts, weekend runs and occasional regional/country trips
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills suited to a logistics environment
• Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
• Experience in a fast-paced setting, with the flexibility to respond to changing priorities
• A demonstrated record of delivering reliable, high-quality service within set timeframes
• Well organised, with strong time-management skills
• A track record of meeting targets and KPIs
• Strong workplace health and safety awareness and a solid work ethic
• Able to adapt safely and efficiently to a constantly changing work environment
• Calm under pressure and capable of working without direct supervision

Task & responsibilities

• Keep the truck clean and tidy, including after each use
• Drive in accordance with the road rules and put safety first at all times
• Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance on trucks and trailers
• Load, unload and restrain freight correctly and securely for transport
• Follow all safe work practices and complete manual handling tasks efficiently
• Deliver a high standard of customer service while meeting delivery schedules and deadlines

Qualification & experience

Experience

• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a heavy vehicle truck driver

Licences and Certifications

• Current Multi-Combination (MC) driver’s licence
• Forklift licence
• Current First Aid certificate
• Dangerous Goods driver licence
• Load Restraint certificate
• Experience operating vehicles fitted with Road Ranger (manual) transmissions
• Sound working knowledge of road traffic laws and the legislation governing heavy vehicle operations
• Completion of Fatigue Management / Chain of Responsibility (CoR) online training (desirable)
