THE SALTY BEARDMAN Mehta & Sons Pty Ltd Cook – Kingscliff, NSW 2487 Position Cook Employer Mehta & Sons Pty Ltd Business The Salty Beardman Employment Full-time Location Kingscliff NSW 2487 Salary $75,000 – $87,000 per year About the role Mehta & Sons Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join the team at The Salty Beardman, a beachside fish and chips and hospitality venue in Kingscliff, NSW. This is a full-time Cook position for a motivated hospitality professional who takes pride in preparing fresh, high-quality food and delivering an excellent dining experience for our customers. You will work closely with our kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure consistent food quality, efficient service and high standards of kitchen operations. Key responsibilities • Prepare and cook a variety of seafood, fish and chips, burgers, breakfast items, salads, sides and other menu dishes according to established recipes and quality standards. • Ensure all meals are prepared and presented consistently to The Salty Beardman's standards. • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, food safety and kitchen cleanliness at all times. • Manage mise en place and ensure ingredients and cooking stations are organised and fully stocked. • Monitor cooking times, temperatures and portion control to ensure food is cooked correctly and served promptly. • Work efficiently during busy lunch and dinner service periods. • Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service. • Assist with preparation of menu items and seasonal specials. • Follow all food safety regulations, workplace health and safety requirements and kitchen procedures. • Assist with stock control, food preparation and minimising food wastage. • Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly. • Assist junior kitchen staff where required. What we're looking for • Proven experience working as a Cook in a professional hospitality environment. • Experience with seafood, fish and chips, burgers or modern Australian cuisine is highly regarded. • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and kitchen operations. • Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen sanitation. • Ability to work efficiently and calmly during busy service periods. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent food quality. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a busy kitchen team. • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays. • Relevant culinary qualifications or formal training will be highly regarded. • Experience with food costing and stock management will be advantageous.
