Our Northern division operates five beef processing plants across Queensland and Northern NSW, producing more than 400,000 tonnes of beef products every year. About the Role: An exciting opportunity for an Accountant currently exists at our Rockhampton Plant. This is a full-time role with annual salary $79,4230-110,000.00 plus superannuation. Responsibilities include but not limited to: · Collect, record, and validate financial data to support the preparation of timely, accurate, and compliant weekly and monthly financial reports, ensuring the integrity of information and adherence to statutory and internal reporting requirements · Preparing journals and general ledger reconciliations · Preparing month-end reports including analysis of operating costs · Analysing standard to actual cost variances · Identifying challenges and opportunities and recommending corrective actions to meet cost performance targets · Serving as a business partner to the Plant Manager and Plant Operations Team, providing support on all matters relating to the plant performance and financial processes · Follow up and liaising with Senior Management queries on site · Inventory control including reconciliations for hides, skins, by products, and dry-goods, and off-site inventory · Coding and reviewing all Accounts Payable invoices · Monitoring AFE project completion and facilitation of asset capitalisation · Maintain accounting systems, and advise on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems appropriate for operational needs · Contribute to the design and ongoing maintenance of internal control systems to ensure financial compliance and risk mitigation· Criteria: · Experience working in a similar role essential · Must possess strong working knowledge of accounting principles · SAP experience is preferred · Accounting qualifications will be highly regarded · Microsoft Excel intermediate to advanced, · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Identifies basic cause & effect relationships with strong analytical skills · Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-skill · Excellent attention to detail · Able to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines · Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment · Must be energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement · Sees an opportunity & takes action · Makes self fully available as required The ad is valid for 28 days.
