Saltbush Contracting is seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator / Boilermaker to join our maintenance team in Kalgoorlie.

Supporting our civil, mining and haulage operations, you will undertake fabrication and repair work across a varied fleet of heavy vehicles, trailers and mobile equipment. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works safely and enjoys solving practical problems.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Fabricating and assembling metal components from drawings and work instructions.
• Measuring, marking, cutting and forming steel plate and sections.
• Welding and finishing fabricated components.
• Repairing approved trailer, equipment and steelwork components.
• Inspecting completed work for accuracy and quality.
• Working alongside mechanics and other trades to support fleet maintenance.
• Completing job records and maintaining a safe, organised workshop.

About you

To be successful, you will have:

• A relevant metal fabrication or boilermaking trade qualification, or recognised equivalent.
• Proven fabrication and welding experience.
• The ability to read drawings and work accurately.
• Experience using workshop fabrication tools and machinery.
• A current driver’s licence.
• A strong commitment to safety and quality.
• A reliable approach and the ability to work well within a team.

Experience with heavy vehicles, side tippers, trailers or mobile plant will be highly regarded. Forklift and other relevant high-risk work licences are also desirable.
