QA/QC Inspector
Metso is looking for a QA/QC Inspector to join the team in Karratha. This role is based in Karratha and operates on an 8:6 residential roster.
As our Sourcing Specialist, you will:
• Organise c•alibration of all the precision equipment, keeping and maintaining a detailed register of all equipment and servicing.
• Log reports through the feedback portal and follow up progress. Includes the inspection of faulty component and assigning rectification to relevant parties.
• Work closely with warranties and other key stakeholders to ensure warranty repairs are completed in a timely manner.
• Conducts assessment activities for nonaccredited competencies (VOC’s) to determine the competence of individuals or groups within the repair location.
• Load characteristic record sheets, ITP’s and inspection documents into designated job files. Maintain all quality records.
• Work alongside contractors when 3rd party testing is required.
• Provide detailed feedback to the repairs coordination and engineering team in relation to on-the-job specifications.
• Undertake comprehensive inspections of Metso fixed plant equipment including, but not limited to, crusher components, screens and screen parts, gearboxes, conveyor pulleys and drives, and slurry pumps.
• Read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings and procedure manuals.
• Work as part of a team to solve practical on the job problems and solutions.
• Record, analyse and inform relevant personnel of production quality assurance and the Leading Hand Mechanical Fitter, of status and disposition of customer requirements specific to job progress and status.
• Assist in the investigation of customer queries regarding quality. Tolerances, specifications and delivered condition of products.
• Perform inspection and assessment of the mechanical repairs, component refurbishment and service activities relating to Metso OEM Equipment components, complete machines and spare parts.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, proactively working with Leading Hands, coordinators and Workshop Supervisor.
• Strip and assemble equipment.
• Collate and compile ITPs/MDRs and submit to relevant parties for approval before submitting to customer.
• Perform final inspections on all repairable and new equipment/spares, collate and validate work packets.
Essential skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills, competencies and experience:
• Mechanical Trade Certificate.
• Precision Measuring experience and skills.
• QA/QC process experience.
• Current WA Driver’s License.
• Current Forklift Certificate/licence.
• Proactive approach to getting the job completed in an organized manner.
• Familiar with OEM product line equipment.
• Good communication skills.
• Efficient time management skills.
• Good computer-based understanding, Word and Excel experience.
• Customer service mindset.
