This high-profile Federal Government department plays an important role in delivering initiatives that support Australia's energy and environmental priorities.
An exciting opportunity is available for two experienced APS4 Executive Assistants to join a busy and collaborative division. Each successful candidate will provide dedicated support to a Branch Head.

These positions are available as non-ongoing contracts for an initial 6-12-month period, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency for the right candidates.

Your new role

As an APS4 Executive Assistant, you will provide professional, proactive and high-quality support to a Branch Head. You will work in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and helping ensure the smooth operation of the executive office.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing complex calendars, appointments and meeting schedules
  • Monitoring the Branch Head's inbox and prioritising correspondence
  • Coordinating meetings, travel arrangements and itineraries
  • Preparing meeting papers, briefing packs and routine correspondence
  • Liaising professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinating actions, deadlines and follow-up activities
  • Maintaining accurate records and document management processes
  • Providing general administrative and executive support as required

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this position, you must have:

  • Previous experience working as an Executive Assistant within the Australian Public Service
  • A current Baseline security clearance
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives, ideally at SES or Branch Head level
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of discretion
  • A proactive, professional and solutions-focused approach
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Teams
  • Australian citizenship
