Employment: Full-time, 38 hours per week

Base salary: AUD $75,000–$85,000 per year, plus mandatory superannuation

Bright Bees Early Learning Centre provides education and care for children from three months to six years. Our educators create welcoming, inclusive learning environments and support children’s development through play, using the Early Years Learning Framework . 

Benefits

An annual salary between $75000 to $85000 plus mandatory superannuation will be paid to suitable candidate commensurate with qualification and skills.

Task & responsibilities

• Contribute to planning, delivering and evaluating play-based learning experiences that reflect children’s interests, strengths, abilities and cultural backgrounds.
• Observe and document children’s learning and development, and contribute to the educational program in consultation with team and Educational Leader.
• Prepare and organise learning materials and safe, engaging indoor and outdoor environments.
• Provide active supervision during play, meals, rest, transitions and other routines, following supervision plans and educator-to-child ratio requirements.
• Build respectful, responsive relationships with children and use positive, developmentally appropriate behaviour guidance that protects each child’s dignity and rights.
• Assist in the planning, preparation and delivery of age-appropriate educational, developmental and recreational activities for children.
• Support feeding, nappy changing, toileting, handwashing, sleep and rest, following individual needs, safe practices and service procedures.
• Follow individual medical management plans and service procedures for medication, allergies, illness, injury and emergencies.
• Identify, respond to and promptly report child safety concerns, hazards, incidents and suspected abuse or neglect, including fulfilling applicable ACT mandatory reporting obligations.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate respectfully with families about children’s learning, routines and wellbeing, while protecting privacy and confidentiality.
• Maintain hygienic learning spaces, toys and equipment, and follow infection prevention and food safety procedures relevant to the role.
• Comply with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations as applied in the ACT, the National Quality Standard and service policies, including safe use of devices and handling of children’s images.
• Participate in team meetings, professional learning and continuous improvement.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum qualification of  Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an approved equivalent or higher qualification. An approved Diploma is desirable. Overseas qualifications must be recognised by ACECQA where required.
• At least one year of relevant experience in similar position in an early childhood education and care setting.
• Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
• First aid, emergency asthma management, CPR and anaphylaxis management training.
• Working knowledge of EYLF V2.0, the National Quality Standard, active supervision, inclusion and child safe practice.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators and families.

We are seeking a qualified full-time educator (minimum 38 hours per week) who is committed to children’s safety, wellbeing and learning. You will work collaboratively with the room team, Educational Leader and Centre Director to provide responsive education and care. This is a full-time position minimum 38 hours per week based in Nicholls, ACT.

Salary: $75000-85000
