HORTICULTURE SUPERVISOR

PURPOSE

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Horticulture Supervisor to join Vishwa Group Pty Ltd. Your expertise in supervising horticultural operations, coordinating staff, and maintaining high standards of crop and plant production will directly improve productivity and support the overall success of our horticultural operations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Horticulture Supervisor at Vishwa Group Pty Ltd, you will supervise and coordinate day-to-day horticultural operations, including crop production, planting, cultivation, irrigation, pruning, harvesting, and general plant care. You will also coordinate staff, monitor work quality and productivity, ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, and use labour, equipment, and other resources effectively in line with operational and financial requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintaining horticultural equipment, tools, materials, and work areas.
• Supervising and coordinating daily horticultural activities and operations.
• Planning and organising planting, cultivation, pruning, and harvesting activities.
• Monitoring plant growth, crop quality, and overall horticultural production.
• Supervising and allocating tasks to horticultural workers and staff.
• Inspecting plants and identifying pests, diseases, and growth problems.
• Implementing appropriate pest, disease, weed, and plant management practices.
• Monitoring irrigation, fertilisation, soil preparation, and plant nutrition.
• Ensuring horticultural activities comply with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Maintaining production records and monitoring the use of labour, materials, and resources

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• AQF Certificate III in Horticulture, AQF Certificate IV, or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant horticultural experience, including supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of planting, cultivation, pruning, harvesting, and crop maintenance.
• Experience supervising horticultural workers and coordinating daily work activities.
• Knowledge of plant health, pest and disease identification, and control practices.
• Experience with irrigation, fertigation, fertilisation, and general crop management.
• Ability to operate, maintain, and oversee the use of horticultural machinery and equipment.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe chemical handling.
• Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan work efficiently and meet production, quality, and seasonal targets.

REPORTING TO

The position reports to the Manager.  

SALARY

$80,000 per year

WORKING HOURS

Full-time position, 38 hours per week.

BENEFITS

$80,000 per annum plus 12% Superannuation in line with legislative requirements
